| Description: | Pink flowers. Semi-prostrate annual herb. Leaves imparipinnate with 3-7 leaflets; leaflets narrowly ovate-elliptic, with appressed whitish hairs, especially below. Flowers in axillary spikes, bright pink to almost red. Pod curved, slightly constricted over the seeds, tipped by the recurved remains of the style, covered with appressed whitish hairs, straw-coloured when ripe. (from Flora of Zimbabwe website) Pods either flattened from the sides and two-edged or cylindrical to almost four-edged. Leaves either with one to numerous, short-stalked leaflets or finger-shaped, tripartite, rarely undivided. Flag hairy; Keel usually not beaked, glabrous, rarely slightly beaked, then glabrous or hairy at the tip. Stipules small, inconspicuous. Pods flat. Petals pink, red or red-purple. Pods with several seeds. Pods straight or bent up at most ± sickle-shaped. Inflorescence axes not spiny, longer or shorter than the leaves. Calyx in 5 parts almost to the base. Prostrate or ascending to erect herbs. Seeds small, four-edged, protruding from the surface of the neck as a continuous longitudinal ridge. Leaves 3-7. Pod surface convex over the seeds, flat between the seeds, forming a broken longitudinal ridge, pods 10-15 : 2-2.5 mm in size. Calyx as long as the filaments or slightly longer, rarely shorter.
