| Description: | Tufted perennial with densely lanate hairy base; culms 20–90 cm high. Leaf laminae 7–20 cm long and 2–3(5) mm wide, linear, flat, glabrous to densely hirsute with tuberclebased hairs, acuminate. Panicle 7–20 cm long, ovate, moderately to densely branched. Spikelets (2)2.5–3 mm, ovate, acute; inferior glume 1/3–2/3 the length of the spikelet, broadly ovate, 0–3-nerved; superior glume 5-nerved; inferior lemma 5–7-nerved, male, its palea well developed; superior lemma and palea pallid, glossy.
